The wonderful daycare that my kid is in has slots open for 3s and 4s the fall, as do several others in the area. There's a shortage of that age kids. No slots for 2s, just the slightly older ones.

Good luck.Magpiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15460136246441367993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-390791704606834554.post-68386264374626813092008-04-20T11:14:00.000-04:002008-04-20T11:14:00.000-04:00This does suck! We struggled to get Elliot into a daycare only to pull her out of it (and another one) because we were disgusted with the quality of care she received. Then by some miracle, we got her into one of the best places in the city. Now the place has a 3 year waiting list (people are putting their names on the waiting list before even pregnant - this is insane). I'm so grateful that both kids have a spot there when I go back as it's one less thing to worry about.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I'm so sorry you're going through this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-390791704606834554.post-46468244296825526042008-04-20T10:18:00.000-04:002008-04-20T10:18:00.000-04:00Hey girl-What a bummer! Im sure it will turn out for the best and maybe there is a way to see the best possible outcome of this situation. I guess a nanny is what you have to do for now, just in case. I wonder how much that costs compares to daycare? Maybe you be a full time tutor instead of a teacher for a year- but even so, if you stayed out one more year, would you be able to get a spot in day care for the next year?
YUCK!

TraceyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-390791704606834554.post-35596228787301943082008-04-19T12:27:00.000-04:002008-04-19T12:27:00.000-04:00Oh, that bites. I have friends who take their children to a home day care center and they are very pleased with the care (as well as social and educational stimulation) they get.

Put your kids on the waiting lists because spots Do open up all the time. Take heart, things WILL work out and you WILL go back to work in the fall!Rimahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15883046753707687727noreply@blogger.com
